The foundation for Anna´s Ginger Thins were laid by the sisters Emma and Anna Karlsson as far back as 1929 at their home bakery and school of household management in Stockholm.

The Mattsson family purchased the bakery in 1963. Five years later another bakery, Sockerbullen, was bought for baking some confectionaries. The bakery were then located in Årsta, south of Stockholm.

To be able to rationalize and meet a greater demand; new bigger premises was acquired in 1971 in Högdalens industrial estate. In 1978 the premises were already to small and a plot of land was bought in Tyresö, just outside of Stockholm, where an even larger production plant was built, which is where the bakery remains to this day.
The 1st of March 2002 a new bakery in High River; a small town 50 km south of Calgary, was inaugurated. Read more under "Annas in Canada".

Today Anna´s is a growing company where export is half the turnover. We export to large parts of Europe, but even to other countries like Japan, Australia, New Zeeland, USA and Canada. Every year, approximately 4,000 metric tons of Anna´s Thins are transported by road from Anna´s production plant to wholesalers, ports and warehouses.

Anna´s recipe is a well-preserved secret containing the traditional spices cinnamon, ginger and clove.

Today Anna´s Thins is baked in many different flavours. More about this under "Products".
